He developed a passion for acting at a younger age, was consistent throughout his career, and became one of the most sought-after actors.

Margolis became a household name follow ing his role as Hector Salamanca in Better Call Saul and Breaking Bad. The latter was nominated for an Emmy Award in 2012.

In Breaking Bad, he played a wheelchair-using crime boss who could not speak and communicated using only a hotel reception-style bell.

Margolis was a regular in the films of director Darren Aronofsky, including “Pi,” “Requiem for a Dream,” “The Fountain,” “The Wrestler,” “Black Swan” and “Noah.”

His other film and television credit includes; The Opening of Misty Beethoven, Going in Style, Dressed to Kill, Christmas Evil, Eddie Macon’s Run, Scarface, The Cotton Club, The Bedroom Window, Glory, White Hot, I Shot Andy Warhol, and The Pallbearer, among others.

Sadly, the Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul veteran actor has died. Mark Margolis passed away at 83 on Thursday, August 3, 2023.

He passed away at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City on Thursday, after a short illness, according to his son, Morgan Margolis.

“Mark’s enduring excellence and amiable nature have left an indelible impression on those fortunate enough to collaborate with him and know him,” Robert Attermann, his agent, said in a statement. “He will certainly be missed.”
